Hannigan: Philadelphia vs. Atlanta a ‘Tale of Two Halves’

News, Shows, Union, UnionFanTV

Atlanta United, powered by second-half goals from South American stars Josef Martinez and Hector Villalba, defeated the Philadelphia Union 2-0 on Saturday, at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, PA.

Following the result, in his post-match press conference, Philadelphia Union coach Jim Curtin hailed his team’s performance, calling it a “solid” one. I happen to agree with Curtin. Partly.

It was a ‘tale of two halves’ for Philadelphia on Saturday night, with the Union falling to visiting Atlanta United 2-0, after two second half goals courtesy of Major League Soccer’s leading scorer, Josef Martinez, and Hector Villalba.

ICYMI: U in Review — Philadelphia Union vs. Atlanta United

Here are some of my (erratic) thoughts on the Union’s first half successes, second half woes and United’s potent attack.

News, Opinion, Shows, UnionFanTV

We The People Podcast, presented by UnionFanTV and sponsored by Sleight of Hand Barbers, is officially the official Philadelphia Union podcast on Philly Football Daily.

Hey folks, John here.

It’s been a week to digest the Philadelphia Union’s disappointing 3-0 loss, in which the Boys-in-Blue were, for lack of a better word (or maybe the right word), demolished by Dominique Badji and the Colorado Rapids.

In this second episode of the season, Jason and I share our thoughts on the game as a whole, as well as points of interest from the match, including Matt Real’s Major League Soccer debut and the Union’s struggling offense.

Listen to Ep. 2 on the player below or on our SoundCloud and enjoy!

Editor’s Note: We are working to bring the Podcast to more mediums, soon.
