Union to Host Eintracht Frankfurt in Summer Friendly
On Friday, the Philadelphia Union cheekily announced a Summer friendly at Talen Energy Stadium against German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Frankfurt, who currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga, features United States international Timmy Chandler. Die Adler will visit Talen Energy Stadium and Chester on Saturday, July 14 with kickoff for the friendly slated for 7:00PM.
Union Tease New Away Kit
The Philadelphia Union have been doing a lot of teasing lately. On Sunday, the club Tweeted out a side-by-side picture of the Union’s away kits for the 2018 season. See for yourself:
Looks a lot like last season’s, if you ask us. Nevertheless, the Union’s social team sure knows how to drum up fan engagement and curiosity via social media.

Done Deal: Zlatan to LA
You may have already read Noah Barnes’ latest for Philly Football Daily, tracing the transfer saga of self-proclaimed god and lion, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the Los Angeles Galaxy.
On Friday, Barnes and the Galaxy were finally both able to say that Ibra had signed for LA.

Columbus’ Federico Higuain Reaches Milestone
Columbus Crew SC keep on winning while their Argentine playmaker Federico Higuain continues to rack up personal milestones, too.
On Saturday, the Crew extended their unbeaten start to the season to four games, handily beating Eastern Conference rival DC United 3-1 at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus.
Higuain extended his own high-flying start to the season, assisting on teammate Ricardo Clark’s goal in the 40th minute. It was “Pipa’s” 50th of his MLS career, making him the 19th player in league history to both score and set up 50 goals.
Donovan Scores Winner in Return to San Jose
Landon Donovan scored the lone goal in Club Leon’s one-nil win over San Jose Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium on Saturday night.
Donovan, who played for San Jose from 2001 to 2004, scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 19th minute after a cool turn. The 36-year-old signed for the Mexican club in January after coming out of retirement for the second time in his career.

Tuchel Rejects Bayern, Set For Arsenal Job
According to multiple reports out of Germany, former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has turned down an offer to become the manager at Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.
Sports Bild was the first to report that Tuchel is set to join a major club outside of the Bundesliga this Summer. However, where Tuchel ends up this summer remains to be seen.
On Saturday, German National Team legend Lothar Matthaus told Bild that Tuchel has been in contact with North London club Arsenal about replacing legendary manager Arsene Wenger this Summer.
World’s Best Keepers Critical of World Cup Ball
There’s a new match-ball for the upcoming World Cup and some of the world’s best keepers aren’t happy with it.
Spain’s David de Gea and Germany’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen were critical of the official World Cup match-ball, Adidas Telstar 18, while former Liverpool great Pepe Reina has went as far as to call for it to be changed ahead of the global tournament this Summer.
