Report: Union Eyeing Top-Three SuperDraft Pick
ICYMI: On Saturday, Crossing Broad’s Kevin Kinkead used Twitter to report the Philadelphia Union are actively looking to trade into a top-three pick for Friday’s MLS SuperDraft.
MLS newcomers Los Angeles Football Club have the first overall selection in the 2018 SuperDraft. Following LAFC, in order, are the Los Angeles Galaxy and D.C. United with the No. 2 and No. 3 pick respectively.

The Union do not currently have a first or second round pick in this year’s Draft. As of today, the club will select at 54 overall.

Atlanta United Closing in on Barco Signing
As previously reported, United are on the verge of landing touted Argentinian youngster, Ezequiel Barco from Independiente. According to ESPN, the 18-year-old is set to sign for the club, ending the transfer saga that has gone on for months.
The deal for the attacking midfielder is reported to include a transfer fee in the range of $15 million, with Independiente claiming 30 percent of any future transfers of Barco that occur before December 2019.
Barco’s transfer fee is set to become the largest in MLS history, surpassing Toronto Football Club’s deal for Michael Bradley from AS Roma in 2013 ($10 million).
Landon Donovan Signs for Club Leon
Donovan, 35, has come out of retirement. Again.
On Saturday, Major League Soccer’s all-time leading scorer announced his decision to come out of retirement and sign for Liga MX side, Club Leon. And, overnight, the Mexican outfit confirmed “Mr. Donovan’s” signing via Twitter.
Report: Manchester United “Confident” in Sanchez Deal
Sources have reportedly told ESPN that United boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to use fringe player Henrikh Mkhitaryan as leverage in a potential deal with Arsenal for star forward, Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez, 29, has been the center of transfer speculation for months now, with English Premier League leaders Manchester City long been regarded as the favorite to land the Chilean.
However, according to “top officials” at City, the Citizens are reportedly unwilling to meet Arsenal’s asking price of £35 million.
Liverpool End Manchester City’s Unbeaten Run
Liverpool beat the league leaders 4-3 at Anfield on Sunday, ending the Citizens 23 match unbeaten run.
City remain clear at the top of the Premier League with 62 points. Liverpool’s win helps the Merseyside club bypass Chelsea on goal differential and move into third place with 47 points.
