Curtin Midweek Presser — 18 July, 2017

Missed what was said at the podium? On the Power Training Grounds? No worries, UnionFanTV has you covered. Here are the key takeaways from Jim Curtin’s Weekly Presser and / or media scrum:

Philadelphia Union manager Jim Curtin did not take to the podium today. Instead, Curtin was available to media during the last 15 minutes of the Union’s training session at The Power Training Complex.

Fabian Herbers out six to seven weeks, after successfully undergoing a sports’ hernia surgery

It comes as a shock to most given the fact Herbers played as recently as July 9 for Bethlehem Steel FC, and scored. However, Herbers has been out of the picture with the First Team for several weeks now, and now we know why.

Derrick Jones has a concussion

Jones, who sat out at training today, apparently picked up the knock in the Saturday friendly against Swansea City AFC.

No timeline for his return, but the midfielder is expected to miss tomorrow’s match in Montréal, and could possibly miss out on Saturday in Columbus as well.

Alejandro Bedoya might be available Saturday versus Columbus

Bedoya returned home from United States Mens’ National Team assignment to welcome his baby daughter into the world.

UnionFanTV would like to extend our congratulations to Ale and his wife, Beatrice, on the birth of their daughter!

Anthony Fontana trained with the First Team today
