An Open Letter to Union Fans

On the eve of the season opener, I would like to take the time to reaffirm my commitment to covering the Club throughout this upcoming season and the foreseeable future.

UnionFanTV has a mantra: For the Fan, by the Fan. Always. Recently, we have not adhered to our promise.

When I returned for my second semester at college, I immediately felt in over my head and quite simply, overwhelmed. And while I would prefer not to speak for the other college-age contributors on the site, I have a pretty good feeling that they have felt this way, too.

My decision to go ahead and launch UnionFanTV during my winter break was entirely based on whim. Never before had I owned a domain, maintained an active website, or published content daily. Before December, I had never written about the Philadelphia Union.

In hindsight, the timing of my decision may not have been opportune. In retrospect, it could not have been any worse.

But all that being said, I am not the type of person who makes excuses or seeks pity from others. Nor am I someone who falters when the goin’ gets tough. Like the club I support, I am up for the challenge ahead.

As the Editor-in-Chief and Founder of UnionFanTV, I would like to renew my vision for an independent website that is committed to delivering you, the fan, the most relevant Union content daily and leaving no stone unturned.

Here’s to the rest of the season and to keeping you ahead of the game once more.
